This will be our fifth season and we hope that like the previous four years it will be a rewarding time of fellowship, competition and exciting basketball play plus ample opportunities for players to hear God’s Word through our guest speakers, devotional meetings, and through individual talks and prayer with your players. We invite you and your church or fellowship group to join us in the fifth summer basketball league season of the Christian Sports League (CSL). Last season we had 12 teams with two separate divisions. This made for better competition in accounting for different skill levels. Once again, we had some excellent guest speakers, Dr. Bruce Fields, Paul Daly, Pastor Raj Christodoss and PAstor Mark Brunke. We hope to have an even more exciting lineup this season. This season's application packet is available to be downloaded from this website. We note that you should register with us as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Gym space is increasingly difficult to secure and we don't want to turn away teams if possible. The registration deadline is May 23rd. 2 Comments Lin-effect: Chicagoans Drew & Joe Lee 03/05/2012
MAKNG AN IMPACT - OFF THE COURT Another Lin-effect story written about our very own Chicagoans: Drew & Joe Lee. Just a terrific testimony about their faith and how basketball played a part in it all. Some of you have probably played against them. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-met-trice-basketball-0305-20120305,0,1684277.column 2012 CSL Season Coming Soon 02/25/2012
Where Is Jeremy Going With His Faith? There has been a media frenzy over Jeremy Lin for the past several weeks, and rightfully so given the incredible rise from the D-League to the next NBA sensation. He clearly has more game to develop before becoming the next Steve Nash but we hope that this will happen. Jeremy is also known as a devout Christian and he has been reasonably humble and careful on this subject. At this point it is probably wise not to use the worldwide basketball media platform to share the Gospel. Perhaps, it is better to establish himself as a long term credible NBA star before speaking out boldly about his faith. This is a tough call for Jeremy as he must struggle with how to do this effectively. There have been many articles about Jeremy Lin but there is one interview about his faith that is worth reading.
